So… Saturday

I felt: Kind of energised, been working hard on a project that I started a long time ago, but want to re-visit. When my attention is caught, I can be a bit too single-minded - good for the project, not so good for my Christmas shopping plans.

I thought: It's funny, although I think of myself as pretty Queen of Swords-y, this is often the hardest section for me to fill in...

I slept: 8 1/2 hours in 3 chunks.

I worked out:  51 minutes of step and weights with Cathe Friedrich's Body Fusion, then 25 minutes of yoga later in the day.

I ate:  45g of biscuits after lunch (tut-tut), 60g biscuits, 61g chocolate and 39g cake after dinner (ditto). Total 205g :(

I am grateful for:  Time to focus on work, ironically.

Friday Feeling

I felt: Enthused, working on a project I've been putting off for months, but suddenly it feels right and is flowing...

I thought: About how beautiful the autumn colours still are.

I slept: 8 hours in 4 chunks.

I worked out:  28 minutes of yoga and 37 minutes of step with Kari Anderson's Hot Steps.

I ate:  92g chocolate and 70g biscuits - 162g, but worse than if it had been all biscuits...

I am grateful for:  A wonderful partner.

"What's Normal?"

I felt: Stressed by visiting a nursery, how daft is that?

I thought: About what it'll be like for the baby I'm expecting, having a disabled brother. Not in terms of looking after him when he's older, but in terms of playing with him, talking with him, walking down the street with him...

I slept: 9 hours in 4 chunks.

I worked out:  30 minutes of yoga, and later 42 minutes of step, hi-lo and toning with Gay Gaspar's Cardio Crazy. This has three intervals, each with a step, a tubing and a hi-lo section. I like the fact that you can put all the step bits together, or do the intervals with their variety. However, all the combinations seemed to be repeated just a bit too much - I like how Cathe generally does two repetitions of a finished combo, and that's it.

I ate:  150g chocolate/almond croissant and 92g chocolate - 242g :(

I am grateful for:  The promise of an early night.

Mid-Week Catch-Up

Tuesday

I slept: 8 3/4 in 2 chunks - yay!

I worked out:  30 minutes of yoga and 9 minutes of a cardio warm-up before I got interrupted *doh*

I ate:  90g biscuits and 58g choc - 148g - so-so.

Wednesday

I felt: Tired and annoyed - had rather too much of a grinchy, cheeky child. It's almost worse when he's getting better, but not yet well enough to go to school, as he's annoyed with being home, too.

I thought: About all the things I haven't done this week because I've been caring for my son instead :(

I slept: 7 hours in 3 chunks - meh!

I worked out:  31 minutes yoga and 43 minutes step and weights with The Firm's Transfirm Your Body.

I ate:  43g biscuits and 50g chocolate - 93g - not bad...

I am grateful for:  School tomorrow!

Monday Weigh-In

Today I weighed: 70.7 kilos (156 pounds). I've decided to look at this in two lights. Firstly, comparing it to my first weight on this blog (which serendipitously was just about a week before I conceived, so perfect as a pre-pregnancy weight): 66.8k . Secondly, compared to my last weight: 68k on 21st October - 6 weeks ago. So, that's a 4k weight gain overall in this pregnancy, and 2.7k in the last 6 weeks. Looking on a pregnancy/baby site, they say that, based on my pre-pregnancy weight, it would be normal for me to gain 11.5-16k over the course of this pregnancy, and to gain 0.4-0.5k a week during the second and third trimesters. So, that puts me at about the right level of weight gain for this point in my pregnancy, and for the last six weeks - yay!

BMI: 25.7

I felt: Upset that my son is still ill.

I thought: It's good to see that, despite some ups and downs, I'm not doing badly in terms of weight gain given I'm pregnant. Of course, losing it after the birth will be a different question, but hey, one step at a time.

I slept: 8 1/4 hours in 4 chunks - much better, though I could still have done with a nap *doh*

I worked out:  41 minutes of yoga.

I ate:  Approximately 100g chocolate cake and 17g chocolate - 117g total.

I am grateful for:  A kind and caring DH.

Slouchy Sunday

I felt: Tired and a bit annoyed: my DH has a tricky relationship with his mother, and so doesn't feel able to be honest with her. He ends up agreeing to things he doesn't want, and feeling resentful. And I have to cope with the fallout.

I slept: 7 hours in 7 chunks - bah! Restless night for my son, coughing and crying :(

I worked out:  36 minutes of yoga.

I ate:  73g brownie and 24g biscuits - total 97g :)

I am grateful for:  Not having pigged out despite being tired :)

Sweet Saturday

I felt: Pretty excited and determined to finally get my acrylics out, which I did.

I thought: About the years of practice I have failed to put into drawing and painting. On the other hand, I've worked out almost daily for about two decades now...

I slept: 9 hours in 3 chunks - yay!

I worked out:  32 minutes of yoga and 37 minutes of step with Cathe Friedrich's Low Impact Circuit.

I ate:  64g biscuits, 60g cake and 57g chocolate - total 181g.

I am grateful for: Exercise in its manifold forms.
