Finally Friday

I felt: A lot better than yesterday! I think meditating and doing a reading helped, and also just having less sugar in my system.

I slept: 8 hours in 4 chunks, including a half hour nap after I'd meditated.

I worked out:  45 minutes cycling on the static bike, followed by 10 minutes of stretching.

I ate:  32g brownie after lunch, then 120g brownie (from a different shop) after dinner. Total 152g :)

I am grateful for:  A better day

Lethargic Thursday

I felt: Tired and upset with myself. I think I'd have more energy if I ate less sugar, yet it's so hard to resist.

I thought: About alternative medicine. I was called into school because my son was suffering so badly with spasms, and the regular doctors say there is nothing more they can do. I just feel tired at the thought of trying the often slow possibilities other modalities offer :/

I slept: 8 1/4 hours in 3 chunks. You'd think I'd wake feeling rested, but I didn't. I think it might be due to the excess sugar last night :(

I worked out:  62 minutes of ballet with Jennifer Galardi's Ballet Body. At first I didn't really want to do this workout, but I'm glad I persevered. I think it's just because it takes longer to warm up that I felt tetchy at the outset...

I ate:  29g of biscuits after lunch, and 180g cake after dinner - total 209g. Bad, but much better than yesterday!

I am grateful for:  The reminder of why I haven't gone back to work full time.

Wicked Wednesday

I felt: Pretty good at the start of the day, then tired later, and upset with myself for overeating again :(

I thought: About the way we make choices. They are often not easy, but we still have to do the best we can. This was with reference to maternity leave choices, not food...

I slept: 8 3/4 hours in 4 chunks.

I worked out:  15 minutes of step with Cathe Friedrich's Low Impact Challenge before I remembered why I haven't done it in a while - just too hard in my current, pregnant state. So, then I did the step workout minus the warm-up (I was already plenty warm!) from Kari Anderson's Go, much more my current level!

I ate:  97g biscuits after lunch, then 188g biscuits and 20g chocolate after dinner for a whopping total of 305g :((

I am grateful for:  Not having hardly any chocolate or biscuits left in the house to tempt me :/

Hard Strikes Tuesday

I felt: Tired. Still, I enjoyed a mellowish day, getting quite a bit done, but without any stressful deadlines.

I thought: About how things always take longer than you think.

I slept: 8 hours in 3 chunks.

I worked out:  47 minutes of kickboxing and upper body/core weights work with Cathe Friedrich's Hard Strikes. It's a good workout, though her cueing is a little late in a couple of places. And I do love the pink boxing gloves! :D

I ate:   After lunch, 33g chocolate and 22g biscuits. After dinner, another 100g biscuits and 55g chocolate :/ Total 210g.

I am grateful for: My DH, who is happy to fill our home with colour.

Catching Up Again

Yeesh, can't believe I haven't posted since Thursday.  Okay, I'm gonna go more unstructured with this, just because.

Friday

I slept poorly, did a quick 33 minutes of step with Christi Taylor's Mission Possible, and followed it up with 7 minutes of yoga stretching.  In terms of food, I didn't write it down and now I've forgotten *doh*

Saturday

Didn't sleep badly, just not enough as I had to be up at 7am to catch a train.  Just managed 12 minutes of yoga.  I also spent half the day (literally) walking around, which has to count for something :D  I ate about 200g of cake and 36g chocolate - 236g total.

Sunday

Slept pretty well, meditated in the morning, and did Cathe's Body Fusion again, I really enjoy it - 51 minutes of step and weights.  I ate badly, though: 138g cake, 35g biscuits and 39g chocolate - 212g total.

Monday

My back has been hurting a bit since Friday, when I lifted my son a few times in awkward positions.  Walking around all day on Saturday didn't help, so today I did a yoga self-practice for 42 minutes, and also got a half hour massage - yay.  As for food, not so great: 50g chocolate after lunch, then a little snack of 4g chocolate and 11g biscuits.  After dinner, about another 44g biscuits, and 80g chocolate.  Total 189g?  It felt like more...

Life Choices Thursday

I felt: Annoyed at the person who said they needed 30 minutes of my time and took an hour and a quarter.

I thought: About life choices. This was inspired in part by Eowyn's post about goal setting, and in part by the fact that I'm meeting up with some friends from my last course of academic studies later today. Have I made the right choices for my life? Overall, I'm pretty happy with my life, but I worry about it being unconventional, about my choices not being proper. I think it's a desire for acceptance by others that gets in the way of my accepting my own choices, much though I love them. Anyhow, my reading today made me see these choices in a different light. While they might not be acceptable to a lot of my family, I think they honour the spirit of my Grandma, even if she wouldn't necessarily have understood them, either.

I slept: 7 hours in 2 chunks.

I worked out:  30 minutes of step with Cathe's Basic Step.

I ate:  Approximately 100g cake after lunch, then 60g cake, 86g biscuits and 40g chocolate. Total 286g. I'm blaming being exhausted, but really, I know this too is about choices...

I am grateful for: Friends.

Whirring Wednesday

I felt: Very tired and nervous - not a great combination. I tried twice to go for a nap, but my mind was just whirring non-stop.

I thought: About all the things that could go wrong, and why I should be awake to try to deal with anything that came up *doh*

I slept: 6 1/4 hours in 3 chunks.

I worked out:  42 minutes of cardio-pilates with Ellen Barrett's Barefoot Cardio.

I ate:  110g cake, 70g biscuits, 67g chocolate - total 247g! Yikes.

I am grateful for: One big thing being out of the way so I can stop worrying about it.
